What is the place of the philosophy of language among other disciplines? The first answer that comes to mind is this: it is part of philosophy and, as such, is one of the philosophical disciplines. This answer sounds simple and natural: after all, is not the philosophy of language some kind of philosophy? A moment of reflection, however, brings doubts to mind.
