(2018) Heidegger's poetic projection of being, Basingstoke, Palgrave Macmillan.
According to Socrates, there exists from of old a quarrel between poetry and philosophy. Plato accuses the poets of sophistry, criticizes them for being immoral and favouring feelings over reason. However, if scrutinized by philosophy, poetry could have a restricted place in the ideal society. According to Aristotle, poets tell many a lie, and in particular Homer makes often use of logical fallacies. Concerning truth, the philosophers deemed dialectic interrogation and logic superior to the thoughts of the poets.
