(2015) Deixis in the early modern English lyric, Basingstoke, Palgrave Macmillan.
Wroth's poem exemplifies the significance of deictics in early modern pastoral and their interaction with cultural issues such as the way forests were conceived. Rather than simply contrasting the world of pastoral with that of court and city, deictics often involve distinctions and tensions among inhabitants of andplaces in the pastoral world.
