In 1982 Jacqueline Rose translated essays by Jacques Lacan, collected under the title Feminine Sexuality, and then went on into important areas across psychoanalysis and feminist theory. However, in 1991 she made a more directly political intervention when she published The Haunting of Sylvia Plath. Issued by Virago, a well-known feminist press, the book was reviewed widely and favourably.
