Does interfield theory solve history of psychology problems?

James L. Pate , Debra Sue Pate

pp. 145-153

Woodward and Devonis have proposed an approach to the philosophy of science that they claim will solve some problems in the history of psychology. However, in problem-solving, one generally starts with a specification of the problem to be solved, and from that specification, possible solutions may be derived. It is not clear that Woodward and Devonis have specified the problem or problems to be solved in their approach. Nonetheless, there are interesting aspects of the paper, but as one might guess, we do not accept all of their arguments.
