On ethics and changing expertise in technology assessment

Imre Hronszky

pp. 167-188

Recent technological changes necessitate a critical assessment from an ethical point of view. The task of this paper will be to inquire into the manner how ethical considerations find their way into technology assessment (TA). The presentation moves in two directions. Partly it deals with the changing professional responsibility for doing TA as an expert activity, partly it criticises some attempts that apply ethics in assessment of technologies.
